The irony between the narrator and the blond man is that the narrator sees himself as invisible. When the narrator says that the blond man had not seen the blond man meant that he did not really see him. The narrator believed that due to his skin color the white, blond man ignored him, until the narrator confronted him. Throughout the novel the narrator faces this injustice and ends up secluding himself from society where he begins the novel. However, society never truly includes the Invisible….

In the novel, Invisible Man, the main character carries around a briefcase throughout the entire story. All of the possessions that he carries in that briefcase are mementos from learning experiences. Throughout the novel, the Invisible Man is searching for his identity and later discovers that The novel opens with the nameless narrator introducing himself to the reader as an invisible man. The Narrator makes it clear that he is not actually invisible but is considered as such because people refuse to see him. The Narrator is speaking from an underground space illuminated by a ridiculous Blindness and invisibility are the two concepts that are discussed regardless of racism and the position one tends to manage between individuality and community.

In the society that Huck and Jim lived, blacks were inferior to the whites, but Twain satirizes this fact by making them equals in his novel. The fact that killing people is acceptable and even humorous is another way Twain ridicules society. He proves that sometimes what is accepted and seemingly respectable is not always right.
