Short essay description
Disability is one of the most important issues in the contemporary society because stigmatization of people with disabilities contributed to the formation of biases and prejudices which put them into the disadvantageous position compared to people, who did not have problems of disability. Such biases and prejudices contributed to the discrimination of people with disabilities which has been eliminated consistently since the emergence of the Civil Rights movement and introduction of legal changes, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act. Nevertheless, today, the problem of people with disabilities and their discrimination persists because many biases and prejudices are resilient. In this regard, education is particularly vulnerable to the problem of the integration of students with disabilities into the learning process since the modern education system attempts to provide equal opportunities for all students, eliminating the discrimination of students with disabilities. Moreover, the modern education system confronts another problem, the problem of students with excessive abilities, who also face problems with the integration into the classroom environment and development of positive relations with their peers.

The Case for Reparations by Ta-Nehisi Coates - The Atlantic

This period of life is such a memorable one that, no matter how long an individual lives he cherishes this period. However, life for me, a handicapped child, handicapped from birth is somewhat different. My limbs do not work, my brain is slow in understanding, and reacting and, my parents instead of doting upon me like other parents, always look at me with worry and dismay. This attitude of theirs makes me in turn feel very depressed and, so much so I even wonder why I was born at all, was it just to give trouble to my parents? I go to school which is meant for special children like me, where we are all looked after, and taught to read and write and also some craft. Since my hands and arms do move a little though very slow I can write and work but, my legs are absolutely useless as though paralysed. To the school and from the school I have to be carried on a chair specially designed for this purpose, as, I cannot walk at all.

The Case for Reparations

While student grades and test scores are clearly top factors in admissions office decisions, application essays often play a pivotal role. Like nothing else, essays give admissions readers a real sense for who you are as a person and student. Some say they are a "glimpse into your soul. Most colleges require at least one essay as a part of their applications; some require two, three or even more. Ranging in length from just a few words to one, two, or three pages of content, essay questions in any free-response section of the college application should be considered an opportunity to make a good impression.

Handicapped people are people with disabilities or deformations in memory, limbs, senses, body etc. People often mistake handicapped as inefficient and weaklings. But the truth is that they are just some special people. Though they might not have one gift of god but they are special and unique in their own ways.
